I'm a 3rd year Statistical Science PhD student at Duke University. Before coming to Duke I completed an undergrad (Math & Physics, with Bio & Stats concentrations) and graduate degree (M.S. Applied Math) at West Virginia University. My prior research experiences include social network analysis (1st generation STEM student retention), scientific software optimization (LIGO gravity wave detection), and computational protein modeling with Marjorie Darrah, Zachariah B. Etienne, and Corey O'Hern, respectively. As an undergrad I was highly active in the West Virginia Chapter of the Sierra Club, serving on the Executive Committee in 2017-18. In 2014 I was selected for the 50th Anniversary class of U.S. Presidential Scholars. In 2018 I adopted an Aussiedoodle, Bernoulli P. (aka "Bernie"), of whom I am particularly fond.
